Pomona Subsidizing Counseling Services for Students

Monsour Counseling Center notified all CUC students that they have a five-week waiting period to be assigned a counselor. In the meantime, they have hired a part-time therapist to help offset the long wait time. At Pomona College, we are concerned about the wait time and accessibility of services during this high-stress time leading up to finals in December. Therefore, the College is providing funding through this semester (and longer if need be) to help students identify and receive counseling with local therapists. Specifically, we have identified some counselors in walking distance from campus, who represent the diversity on the campus and provide specialized treatment for unique student populations and therapeutic needs. The College will offset the cost of counseling co-pays so our students can seek the counseling they need to continue to survive and thrive for the rest of the semester.
